Animated short film - The Demon of Midday

The Demon of Noon – bringing an emotion to life
This project originated from an entry in the ‘First Page’ competition, held annually for recent graduates. It is an adaptation of the opening page of Paul Bourget’s novel *Le Démon de midi*, published in 1914.

These images explore the reunion with a loved one, conveyed through movement and visual contrasts. Every detail has been carefully considered to ensure the emotion is felt immediately. The felt-pen animation tests depict a business dinner scene between Louis Savignan and other prominent figures from the city of Clermont-Ferrand.

Aurora guided my students in creating illustrated detective stories with great attentiveness and professionalism.
She brought their ideas to life through character designs that she adjusted based on their feedback. Her approach with the students and her involvement until the projects were completed greatly contributed to the success of the workshop.
We have fond memories of this collaboration.

I commissioned her to illustrate my first album, Aurora. I am very satisfied with her skills because of the quality of her work. The images correspond to the characters and their feelings. The color nuances also show changes in behavior. Many thanks to this illustrator, whom I will be commissioning again soon.
